Exped Mattress

The rock n roll bed and the sleeping area of the pop top roof don’t have mattresses, so we have been looking for a compact mattress to sleep on.

Since having vans we have always used cheap self inflating mats, which are cumbersome and difficult to store. This year we have decided to invest in a more compact sleeping mat that does not only store in a cupboard in the van but has the comforts of a good mattress as well.

The Exped mattress that we have bought is not self-inflating but comes with a hand pump which is compact and easy to use. However, I find it easier to blow it up myself.

We found as adults that we have adjusted how much air we put in it to make it comfortable. They are full length and two fit comfortably on a 112cm wide bed.

We cover the mats with a mattress cover to protect them while we sleep.

They pack away into a very tiny size and are very light weight.
